Tutorial Field

Tutorial Field was founded in 2015 to provide tuition to small groups of students at an affordable price. Hong Kong schools have large classes and teachers struggle to give students the personal attention they need. Tutorial Field has classes of four or five students so that everyone receives swift individual feedback on their work.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do the tutorials take place?

All tutorials take place in Room 1306, Workingberg Commercial Building, 41-47 Marble Road, North Point, Hong Kong. The nearest MTR is North Point Exit A2. You can click on a Google Map here and you can go to the Contact Us page for full directions.

What is the classroom like?

The 150 square foot classroom is equipped with a whiteboard, computer, all-in-one printer, copier and scanner, and a projector. It has natural light, natural ventilation, potted plants, and air-conditioning; it is a pleasant and welcoming learning environment.

How many students are in a class?

Normally there are four or five. Four is the maximum for primary school students and five for secondary school students.

If my child is having a one-to-one lesson can I or my domestic helper remain in the classroom?

Yes, you or your domestic helper are welcome to stay in the classroom as an observer.

Are there any toilet facilities?

Toilet facilities are located on the same floor, just along the corridor near the lifts.

What is meant by “credits for five lessons of leave"?

Students on our regular weekly courses may request a leave-of-absence in advance. We will either arrange a make-up lesson or apply a credit to their next invoice. Please note that credits for absences are  limited to five instances per year and are only applicable to our regular weekly courses. These credits do not apply to our short intensive courses.

What happens if a student misses a class on one of the short intensive courses?

We always try to provide a make-up class but given the short intensive nature of these courses this is sometimes not possible. We do not normally refund fees in such situations but we will provide the student with all the material missed and will then answer any questions he or she might have.

Do students need to pay for lessons missed because of a Typhoon number 8 (or above) or a black rain storm warning?

No, students do not pay for lessons missed because of typhoons or black rain storms. We either arrange a make up class or adjust the next invoice. This applies to both our regular weekly courses and short intensive courses.

What happens if there is a Number 8 typhoon or a black rain storm during a class.

If a typhoon signal number 8 is raised or forecast to be raised within two hours, any tutorial stops immediately and students leave as soon as they can. If a black rain storm warning is raised when a class is in progress, then students remain in the classroom until it is safe for them to leave.

How can I or my child enrol in a class?

Call or WhatsApp us on +852 6012 3236 or Send an email to [email protected] ; tell us your request and we will respond promptly. For students under the age of 18 we need the name and contact telephone number of a parent or guardian.

What will you use this information for and will you keep it private?

We will use this information to enrol students in the appropriate class, keep a record of their attendance and progress, draw up invoices and receipts, and to communicate with students (and their parents or guardians) on matters related to the class they are enrolled in. We may use it to send occasional promotional material on our other courses to the student and parents or guardians. It will never be shared with third parties or used for any purpose other than those stated above.

Do I need to pay for many lessons in advance?

No, for our regular weekly lessons, fees are paid at the beginning of each month. For the seasonal or short courses, fees are paid in one, two, or three installments depending on the length of the course.

What method can I use to pay fees?

You may pay by cash or cheque (payable to 'Fallow Field Limited') or directly to HSBC a/c 'Fallow Field Limited', (004) 652 XXXXXX001 (full number appears on our invoice) with a copy of the payment slip sent to us by WhatsApp; payments can also be made using FPS and HSBC PayMe to +852 6012 3236, please always add a note of the student's name.

Are you registered with the Education Bureau as a school?

The “legal notices” at the foot of each page state that lessons may be sound and video recorded.  Can you tell me more about that?
